This post will give you some easy steps that will help you get the best out of this alternative operating system. You might just find yourself running a faster, more stable operating system than Windows with less effort than ever before! 1. This guide is for individuals who are looking to install Linux on their Windows PC without any hassle. It covers the basic steps required to get your Linux operating system up and running.
2. For the record, the guide also covers how to play Bluestacks on Windows devices because I know that some of you might be interested in doing so.
3. There are several alternative operating systems available, but we're going with Ubuntu because it's one of the most popular ones out there and it's free! You can go through this article regardless of whether or not you use Ubuntu as your main OS or just as a secondary OS to Windows 10/7/Vista/XP/Mac etc.
4. Again, this isn't meant to be an in-depth tutorial on how to install Ubuntu on your Windows machine, just a basic guide with the steps required to get you up and running in no time.
5. You may have heard of the Wubi installer program in the past. It's basically a wizard that allows beginners to install Ubuntu without any hassle. While it's still available, the instructions below will give you more control over your system. If you do decide to go with Wubi then move forward to 6a. Otherwise, move forward to 6b

7. Now, you can either go with the default settings to install Ubuntu on your computer; or you can tweak the download to get a more customized installation (recommended). To tweak the ISO image and get a customized installation, move forward to step 8a. Otherwise move forward to step 8b
8a. Download and install Etcher by Burianek here
8b. Download and install 7Zip by Igor Pavlov here
9. Extract Etcher and open it up
10. Click 'Select image' and navigate to where you saved the ISO file in Step 6 above
11. Select the ISO file you downloaded above and click 'Open'
12. Etcher will now begin the installation process, which will take several minutes to complete!
13. Once it's finished you should have a new 'ubuntu' folder within your Downloads directory. Just go ahead and move this to somewhere safe so that you don't lose it.
14. Open up 7Zip and create a new folder in there named 'ubuntu'. Inside this folder should be an ISO file named Ubuntu-16.04-amd64-CD_18.04.iso, which is identical to the one you just downloaded.
